Manidipine reduces pro-inflammatory cytokines secretion in human endothelial cells and macrophages. Manidipine, unlike other third-generation dihydropyridine derived drugs, blocks T-type calcium channels present in the efferent glomerular arterioles, reducing intraglomerular pressure and microalbuminuria..
