What is Colistin sulfate?

Function of Colistin sulfate
Colistin sulfate is a toxin synthesized, produced and released by bacteria, consisting of O-specific side chains, core polysaccharides and lipid A. All antibiotics have the problem of causing bacterial endotoxin release, and colistin sulfate has the lowest bacterial endotoxin release. More importantly, colistin sulfate can neutralize endotoxin by binding to the negatively charged phosphate on the bacterially produced endotoxin lipid A through the positively charged -NH2.
