What is Carbamazepine?   Carbamazepine is a white or quasi-white crystalline powder. It is a dibenzo antiepileptic drug and has similar antiepileptic effect with phenytoin sodium. Most effective for psychomotor seizures, but also for grand mal seizures, limited Chemicalbook seizures, and mixed seizures. Carbamazepine has better effect on peripheral neuralgia than phenytoin sodium and can be used for trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia. It can also be used for the treatment of arrhythmia and diabetes insipidus.

 

Fuction And  Application of  Carbamazepine

1. Most effective for psychomotor episodes, but also for grand mal episodes, localized episodes, and mixed episodes. Chemicalbook effect of this product on peripheral neuralgia is better than phenytoin sodium, and can be used for trigeminal neuralgia and glossopharyngeal neuralgia. It can also be used for the treatment of arrhythmia and diabetes insipidus. Oral LD50 was 3750mg/kg in mice and 4025mg/kg in rats.

2.Anticonvulsant, used in the treatment of grand mal epilepsy and psychomotor epilepsy, also can treat trigeminal neuralgia.
