Usage declined in the 1980s as piperaquine-resistant strains of P. falciparu marose and artemisinin-based antimalarials became available. However, Chinese scientists have been studying whether piperaquine can still be used therapeutically in combination with artemisinin.

The antimalarial effect of this product is similar to that of chloroquine.Oral absorption after storage in the liver, slow release into the blood, a long - term preventive effect.
