What is Ceftiofur Hydrochloride?
Ceftiofur Hydrocloride is the third generation antibiotic specially used for animals. It has the advantages including wide antimicrobial spectrum,low toxic and side-effect, less residue. And it has special effect for the escherichia coli infection of chicken and infective pleuropneumonia of cattle |
Function of Ceftiofur Hydrochloride
1. protects epithelial cell membranes in the stomach and restores them to their normal metabolism;
2. acts as an antioxidant and protects the stomach from alcohol and smoking-induced damage;
3 has anti-inflammatory properties and moderates production of interleukin-8;
4. adheres to ulcerations, acts as a barrier between them and stomach acids and helps to heal them;
5. inhibits activity of Helicobacter pylori bacteria;
6. does not interfere with the production of prostaglandins essential to the mucosal lining of the stomach;
7.strengthens these mucosal linings and stimulates production of protective mucous.
Application of Ceftiofur Hydrochloride
Ceftiofur hydrochloride (ceftiofur) has been approved for treatment against respiratory diseases in many animals.1,3,8-10 The recommended dosage regimen of ceftiofur for the treatment of swine respiratory disease is 3-5 mg/kg body weight (BW) administered intramuscularly once daily for 3-5 consecutive days.
