What is Nisoldipine  ? Nisoldipine, nimodipine, nicardipine and Nirendipine are four kinds of dihydropyridine calcium antagonists commonly used at present. Calcium antagonists, also known as calcium blockers, slow channel blockers and calcium channel blockers, belong to antiarrhythmic drugs and are the general name of a class of drugs that inhibit the activation of calcium ion channels and reduce calcium ion flow. In 1985 the International Cardiology Association recommended a uniform term for "calcium antagonists". The discovery and application of calcium antagonists is one of the most important advances in cardiovascular therapy in the late 20th century, and has been widely used in the treatment of angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, hypertension, heart failure and arrhythmia.

 

Function of Nisoldipine 

Nisoldipine, also known as niphenipropyl, deshintine, nierxin, Yili, Nierli and Diyixin, is the strongest calcium antagonist at present. It was first developed and successfully by Bayer Pharmaceutical in Germany. It is highly selective to vascular smooth muscle and its activity to blood vessels is 3-5 times that of other tissues, which can significantly reduce peripheral vascular resistance and myocardial oxygen consumption, and increase coronary blood flow. Improve perfusion in ischemic area, improve myocardial tolerance to ischemia, and significantly reduce the proportion of myocardial necrosis in low-perfusion area due to coronary artery occlusion. At the same time, dilate peripheral arteries, reduce peripheral resistance and cardiac afterload, increase cardiac output and cardiac index, relieve coronary spasm, improve left ventricular function, prevent fatal ventricular fibrillation, and have obvious and lasting antihypertensive effect. Minimal effect on heart rate and myocardial contractility. The dilatation of coronary artery was 4 ~ 10 times stronger than nifedipine. It is a highly effective and low toxic drug for prevention and treatment of acute myocardial ischemia and hypertension.
